The author of this blog, BT Hathaway, has roots in funeral service which extend back over 100 years. At the same time, in a world full of change and transition, these roots mean less and less each year.

He thinks it is best to say that he brings curiosity and a probing mind and he tries to learn constantly about what might make a difference in funeral service for the future.

Such thinking and experimenting guarantees lots of false starts and "messes". At the same time, without the messiness, we never learn. It takes many failed experiments to find the one solid solution (just look at Thomas Edison). So come to this site to wrestle with issues and ideas, help him discard or improve them and together try to find sustainable solutions for the future.
